Day 257 3/10/14: Stop SeaWorld: Support the Orca Welfare Act!
The USDA has just busted SeaWorld for violating the Animal Welfare Act.
Let’s keep up the momentum created by Blackfish. Remember, as media attention moves elsewhere, the whales are still endlessly swimming in their 20 x 20 tanks. 
PLEASE sign this if you believe it should be illegal to keep orcas in captivity!

Day 245 2/25/14: Divers Save Dying Shark
Human beings never cease to completely baffle me.
In Australia, tiger sharks are being hooked, drown and shot as part of an ineffective “cull” program, while in the same waters divers and veterinarians collaborate in an elaborate attempt to save this grey nurse shark from being suffocated by a piece of plastic wound tightly around its neck.

I am privileged to have Deena Metzger as my teacher. When I read her recent essay What Story is And How it Heals, I thought FINALLY! an understanding of story that makes sense to me.
